State President Queen's Birthday Honours
The Pony Club Association of NSW is pleased to congratulate our very own State President Dianne Cullen who was awarded the Medal (OAM) Of The Order Of Australia In The General Division in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List on Monday.
Mrs Dianne Cullen was awarded for service to youth, particularly through pony clubs and equestrian sports. More information can be found here.
Working With Children Check
The phase in schedule for volunteer organisations (which includes Pony Club) will commence 1st April 2015 and all volunteers who are not deemed exempt from the check will need to have provided their WWCC registration number to their Club/Zone for verification by the relevant authorised person.
Information on the Phase-in schedule and Exemptions is included in this Mail Out pack. All those people who have not been designated as exempt from registering for a Working with Children clearance will need to provide their registration number by the 31st March 2016 to Club/Zone authorised person. Club/Zones will need to verify each members WWCC registration online (see http://www.kids.nsw.gov.au/Working-with-children/New-Working-with-Children-Check or our website for full details) and keep a register of members registration including their name, WWCC registration number, date of birth, when check was verified, result status and date of renewal.
Please note that it is illegal to utilise a volunteer after 31/3/16 that has not provided their Working with Children Check registration number for verification or who has been verified as exempt by their club.
Volunteers Clubs are reminded that ALL MEMBERS AND VOLUNTEERS over 18 years of age and over must sign the current Member Protection Declaration form regardless of whether the member has provided a current Working with Children Check registration number. These forms may be found on our web site www.pacnsw.org.au under the forms tab.
If you have any questions in regard to these procedures you can organise an FREE Administration Workshop through your Zone or contact the Office of Children’s Guardian for one of their workshops.
Free Administration Workshops
Are you a Club Official? Are you unsure about meeting procedures, codes of conduct or just where to find information? Zones are reminded that members of the State Executive are available for free Administration Schools.
These schools are booked via the office and can cover a range of issues to help Clubs/Zones including – affiliations, transfers, orders, incorporation, meeting procedure, NCAS, grants, insurance, risk management, Work Health & Safety, Member Protection Information Officer (MPIO), Working with Children Check obligations, conflict resolution and many others. State Championships
Dates and host details for State Championship Events for 2014 are as follows: (State Polocrosse cancelled.)
- - Showjumping Championships, Zone 11, Condobolin, – 5th & 6th July.
- - One Day Event Championships, Zone 20, Albury, 27th & 28th September (Schedule on website soon.)
- - Mounted Games Championships, Host Zone needed, 4th& 5th October
- - Showriding Championships, Zone 7, White Park, Scone – 6th & 7th December
Volunteer Awards
Each year the Pony Club Association of NSW wishes to recognise and appreciate our Volunteers, Junior and Associate members whose efforts have significantly assisted the running and development of Pony Club within their Club and/or Zone.
